Permanent Make-Up & Microblading

All services offered by our shop is not all the same. We may offer the same services, but they are different pricing and done by different artists. If you have a specific artist in mind, please note that while you're booking to make sure you are clicking the correct service/pricing. You can also let us know in the notes or send us a quick email as well. For the apprentice/student work, most likely the educator/teacher will be starting or finishing the work. Sometimes when the student has advanced to almost a technician/artist, we will just sit in the shadows until they need our help & do the final check at the end to make sure all clients leave feeling satisfied with their service and informed/educated on how to take care of their new permanent make-up& etc.
If you specifically would like to book with @BrowswithYena - make sure to book under educator/trainer. -
Microblading is a manual method of cosmetic tattooing. It is considered to be semi-permanent compared to the traditional eyebrow tattoo technique. We use a very fine blade, that deposits pigment into the epidermis. Since the color is being applied closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and fine.
The pigment used will be formulated to match your original brow color and blend perfectly into your current eyebrow hairs. Initially the brows will appear darker but fade significantly over a two-week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch-up done as it is difficult to predict how well the skin will actually retain the pigment. (Refer to ideal client for Microblading)
4D nano machine strokes yield the same results as microblading except the method used is less invasive for your skin and holds better results for most people compared to microblading which we need a dry-normal skin type for. -
For anyone wanting to enhance the look of natural eyebrow hair. The results are natural, hair-like strokes as long as the after care is followed & ideal client must have dry to normal (not much oil to none) skin type to retain pigment with microblading technique. For normal to oily skin, refer to Ombré/Powder brows. Nano strokes have the same appearance in results but is more forgiving when it comes to what skin type is best suited. We still only recommend to normal skin types as oily skin may reject or blur the pigment when healed or aged.
-
Ombré and powder technique is a machine used method and does not include any hair strokes to mimic the natural brow hair. Instead, this style requires shading of the brow from head to tail. This look can be compared to brows when filled in with makeup but more faded & natural looking once healed. The head starts out light and gradually fades darker all the way to the end of the tail. This style is definitely more fierce & sharp compared to microblading look.
-
This method suits all skin types from dry to oily to super oily. The duration of how long the tattoo will last will depend on each skin type and how well you take care of your brow tattoo. (Sun exposure, scab care, etc)
-
This style of brows combines the microblading (or hair strokes) and Ombré style (or micro shading) all in one. It is a combination of microblading beginning at the head which blends into shading throughout the tail. Perfect for those who are looking for a super-natural, yet more profound style of brows. It is suitable for all skin types and may be performed on anybody, however, please keep in mind that microblading strokes may heal blurry for those with oily skin or larger pores.
-
Nano strokes have multiple different names in the permanent make-up industry. It is a service that achieves the same look as microblading which mimics our natural pattern hair strokes but instead of a blade used like in traditional microblading, we use permanent make-up machine to achieve the same crisp hair-like micro bladed look. It is beneficial for more skin types other than dry (which is necessary for microblading candidates) & is less invasive to our skin's natural integrity. Some also say that it is much less painful than the traditional blading service.

My current rate for initial procedure is around $400+ with a $100 Non-refundable deposit which goes towards your total. Touchup is $100-$500 with $100 deposit of the time you make the appointment as well (ie. For a $500 procedure, with a $100 deposit secured, the total at the time of appointment is $400). There are email promotions frequently so sign up to our email list & keep an eye out for those!
(*****ATTENTION***** It is not considered a touch up when the first procedure has been done by another artist- this case would be considered a correction unless approved by artist FIRST - in some cases, the previous permanent make-up is light or faded enough to be considered "virgin" brows)
You can also find the prices to each service on the booking platform. -
At least one touch up is required for ALMOST everyone (90%) & maybe more depending on how oily your skin is & how well the skin retains the pigment. It is extremely likely for you to need a touch up. Within the first two weeks of the initial procedure, the color fades as much as 30-40% & the brows might look patchy and uneven. After this period, typically between 4-8 weeks, a follow-up appointment is done (touch up). This procedure takes much less time consuming than the initial procedure. This will also ensure a longer-lasting tattoo to get your money's worth as well as any changes you would like to make may be adjusted during this appointment (such as color/shape).
We do not do foreign touch-ups as this would be considered a correction. In rare circumstances, we will take foreign touch ups with permission by artist only. Text 210)471-9610 for any more questions regarding this subject. -
The results can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years. Many factors can affect this time frame, such as the client’s skin type, proper care of the brows, and many others. It is recommended to have a touch-up procedure done annually to retain proper shape & saturation of pigment as they might change color, fade, or disappear completely depending on the individual.
Usually for normal to dry skin: they will last 1-5 yrs
Combo skin: 1-2 yrs
Oily to extremely oily/large pore skin: 6-12 months
*the dryer & younger the skin, the longer it will last*
*The darker the color of pigment, the longer it appears to last* -
Semi-permanent makeup is a two-step process with an initial procedure and a touch-up session between 4-8 weeks after. After taking the before photos, the ideal brow shape will be drawn with a pencil to give the client an idea of shape and form. (Also please keep in mind that most faces are NOT symmetrical. Brows are not meant to be identical & it is impossible to attain this look even with natural brow hair. It is also not possible to match a photo of your favorite celebrities’ eyebrows when you have an entirely different face shape/brow shape/brow hair texture/color). Once both the PMU artist and client have agreed upon a final shape (ultimately the client’s decision - but the artist may make recommendations based on their knowledge of what suits a person aesthetically), we will decide on a pigment color together. After that, a topical anesthetic will be administered to ensure comfort. Once you’re numb, the pigment is deposited into the skin. During the healing process, you will experience some pigment loss; which is why you will need a touch-up in most cases.
-
The procedure usually takes us a total of 2-4 hours depending on the artist. Students/apprentices may take up to 6 hours which is why we offer you a discounted rate. 1 hour of paperwork & shape/color consultation where we map your ideal brows or permanent makeup to ensure you'll be happy with the results then the 2 hours is reserved for actual procedure! It is more likely that we won't require all of that time but isn’t something that can be rushed. (Realistically usually only takes around 2 hours)
-
The pain level always differs from person to person and have different levels of sensitivity. A topical anesthetic is always applied prior and/or throughout the procedure, this will alleviate any sensation or discomfort. Some clients may feel more pain in one brow than the other which is normal. You may also hear scratches or machine-like sounds during the treatment which is nothing to be concerned about. Music is played during the procedure, however feel free to bring your own earphones to listen to your own music.
-
It is absolutely safe. We only use sterilized, disposable needles & supplies for our treatments/tattoos. There is a protectant barrier used for every non-sterile/disposable items. Everything in the room is sanitized and wiped after each procedure to ensure safety for you. However, the real unsafe part is when you leave with the fresh tattoo, healing & risk of infection all depends on the individual's after care so please keep that in mind while the area is healing.
-
The color will mimic your natural brow hair as much as possible, unless a different color is desired or requested. We will never be able to go lighter or way darker than your actual brow hair color as it fades and heals into an unpleasant appearance.
-
This would be considered a correction work, however, unfortunately we do not always work over other artists’ work unless it has faded over the course of many years, or it is in fixable condition. Exceptions may be made if the color has faded a lot to where it is almost invisible or has been removed completely by saline or laser. You must send pictures of brows to us & get it approved prior to booking appointment. When booking, you must select the service that adds time for a cover-up/color correction section. If you show up without approval from us, your deposit will be forfeited and will have to pay another one to book an appointment.
If you would like to book a removal, please keep in mind that you may need more than 1-2 sessions to achieve your desired results. After it has faded significantly, you may then book a correction appointment.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. -
Yes, it is a possibility especially for those with oily skin or larger pores. In circumstances like these, we make a third appointment (at your expense) so that the brow artist can review the work & sort out possible tweaks, (if there are any) that may need to be done. Often times, client cancels this appointment as your eyebrows just need a little extra time forming into the finished look. However, there are the occasional few that may need one or two extra strokes to finish off the look but most will require a touch up session as it will not last as long and may have some bald spots that a part of the skin may not have taken pigment in. The skin may react in a way and try to push out the foreign body of pigment by producing a thick scab, which eventually falls off, taking all of the pigment with it. A condition of Pigment Allergy or PPD (paraphenylenediamine) can cause an adverse reaction from the dye as well as any autoimmune diseases, which the client may not even be aware of. The skin would have overreacted & become super sensitive to the pigment & reject it at any cost. Remember that this is a process and you will need to trust it in order to achieve the results you desire.
-
No. Every attempt is made to retain all-natural eyebrow hair & integrate the semi-permanent design as naturally as possible. In some cases, where shaping of the natural brow is required, a few hairs here and there will be removed to create a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing result.
-
Healing process will always vary from person to person. It takes 7-10 days for the epithelial crust (scab) to form and slough off. After that, your skin is considered healed. Scabs will appear after the 3-4th day & will fall off after the 7th day or earlier depending on your skin & look like there is nothing on your brows until the 4-6th week mark! In most cases, brows will heal completely after 4-8 weeks which is when you should be ready for a touchup procedure. The pigment will then take some time to settle into the skin, a good month should pass before the brows are considered healed. Please keep in mind that following the after care as instructed is also a very important part of the procedure as it will determine whether your pigment heals with your skin well or not. In order to keep your permanent makeup beautiful and long-lasting, please follow the after care intensively.
-
No you do NOT. Clients may resume normal activity directly following the procedure. Redness will alleviate in 1-2 days. Eyebrows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your everyday routine. You will not be swollen immediately after but may have slightly red skin around the brows. It will be in the "ugliest" phase around day 7 to day 14 when the scab starts to naturally fall off. Please do not pick during this stage as pigment may pull out along with your scab. This is why it is important to let the scab fall off naturally by keeping the area not too dry but not too moist.
-
You are advised to keep your skin clean & dry which means - no swimming, sweating, getting the area wet, tanning, having prolonged sun exposure, picking at the scab or area, scratching, or rubbing the tattoo. Doing any of these may attribute to loss of color and scarring. Washing your hair & face may still be done, as long as the brows are not completely submerged in water. Once they have healed up entirely, you are free to treat them as your own.
-
Eyebrows will remain beautiful & last much longer if sunblock is applied regularly & any abrasive facial treatments on the brow area are avoided. Many chemicals that are found in skin care and face cream may speed up the process in your permanent makeup fading quicker than usual. Continuous sun exposure is also discouraged during your healing process and after they are healed as well.
-
Unfortunately, it is impossible to predict how the skin will react in each individual & many factors are taken into consideration such as skin type, age, scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products used, & etc. These all play a key role in how the pigment will hold, which is why it is crucial to know that more than one touch up may be required.
We treat our client’s brows as our own & offer the best possible treatment. Using our experience & expertise to give the absolute best outcome possible. We guarantee to strive for complete satisfaction in the design of your brows every time. Again, reiterating that there are no guarantees in this industry. Please carefully take into account all aspects of the process & then decide if having your brows microbladed or tattooed is the right for you. -
Although, Microblading & cosmetic tattoo is considered to be semi-permanent, the procedure does allow flexibility for color or shape change to some extent. However, we will work very closely with you to ensure your satisfaction with the proposed technique. We always allow for you to have as much control over the procedure as possible, so there is very little room for error. If you are unhappy with your original decision, the touchup may be cancelled & the pigmented area will naturally fade away over time. If you are not 100% sure you would benefit from this procedure, please opt for a more temporary option as there are no guarantees in this industry!
-
This answer differs from person to person as one may have very dark brows with a stronger pigment which may need 5 sessions or more. With a lighter brow, it may take one or two sessions. You will not know until healed each time. Even then, removal is not guaranteed as results will vary from one individual to another. This procedure needs 4-6 weeks in between healing time as the skin needs time to breathe & recover. We do not offer laser removal as it is more invasive on the facial area.
