There are NO REQUIREMENTS to become our student!
If you are taking an in-person training course with a live model included, you MUST be licensed or are in the process of becoming licensed (depends on where student lives as some states do not require licensing for artists to begin their PMU/tattoo journey)
Whether you are a beginner who just started out, an advanced microblading artist who wants to learn other styles/techniques, or someone who just wants to see if this is something they want to pursue everyone can benefit from this masterclass. Not only will you learn the best techniques but with the business education that comes with this training, you will feel ready to conquer the permanent makeup industry with the most confidence. The refresher course is recommended for any beginners as their first-time course who is figuring out if they want to pursue this industry and get a feel for what this field and technique(s) is all about. Shadowing day is available for our previous students that would like to bring in a model for a more hands-on refresher course. Continued education/apprenticeship might be required and varies with each state/country. It is the student's responsibility to do further research.

We can offer our students training for any of the services we offer which includes: Apprenticeship for KS or MO licensing, 1-technique intensive courses, lip blushing, eyeliner tattoo, tiny or fine line tattoo, private training with or without a model, stretchmark / scar camouflage basic fundamentals, & brow shaping. Email us for any questions about PMU/tattoo/paramedical training. We do not offer areola or SMP training. We also offer online/hybrid courses.

Keep in mind that only the state can license people and although most states do not require any type of license other than a BBP certification, it is your responsibility to research what is needed in order to perform these procedures where you reside/work. We do however teach all necessary sanitation & breakdown procedures to make sure you have the knowledge you need to get started with a clean/safe environment for your clients; however, we always recommend that you research further into what is necessary in your county/state before starting to perform these procedures. 

Yes, we do offer state-accredited tattoo & PMU apprenticeship through the state of Missouri tattooing board (Kansas has different requirements).

This is where you will be in an academy like setting to work towards 300 hours & 50 procedures under the guidance of one of our licensed supervisors who has completed the same or similar program like our apprentices.

We are on a wait list basis so please fill out this application / interest form or email (info@empressinktattoo.com) ask any questions about the program & availability.

At the end of the apprenticeship, as long as you have all of your hours & procedures, and no remaining balance, you will receive a tattoo/permanent make-up license through the state of Missouri (Kansas takes longer with different requirements).

Once we have a spot open, we will send out a mass email to everyone on the list and start our interviewing process.

Chat support with a trainer is available to all certified students forever once you have taken our training course, so you don't have to feel lost. We also have a private Facebook group for everybody who has taken the class and the trainers so we can help one another.

Students are encouraged to search through the training manual, the presentation notes we went over in class, as well as google search to avoid any redundant fundamental questions being asked throughout the day.

In-person training classes are always held at our shop in Kansas City, Missouri unless stated otherwise.

A Student that cancels enrollment or withdraws from enrollment shall NOT be entitled to a refund all monies paid to Empress Ink Tattoo & Academy under any circumstances or unforeseen events. In an instance that the class is rescheduled for any reason, we will make sure your enrollment fee (non-refundable) deposit can be transferred to a different class as long as communicated via email (info@empressinktattoo.com).
